Our technicians will inspect the area for water damage, and begin to ventilate and smoke and fire damage areas. Any clothes, carpets, rugs, or draperies that have been soaked will be dried to prevent mold and mildew from developing. Virtually all of the house that are made up of wood, like walls or floors, will be dried as well. Brass, aluminum items and even tile surfaces will be cleaned to remove smoke and soot residue. Any upholstered fabrics will be cleaned and deodorized as well. It is important to keep from spreading soot around. One of the first steps of our procedure is to remove any items stained by soot. We remove water or soot from rugs and carpets using special vacuums, and then we use a special procedure to deodorize them. Textiles often absorb any smoke molecules and odor in their environments and our process removes them. After removing water, soot and odors, all cloth items will be thoroughly cleaned.

Once we have cleaned textile times we will clean and deodorize larger structures like floors, ceilings, walls and even air ducts. The smoke molecules that linger can be spread throughout the house even after the cleanup is completed if these areas of the home isn’t properly cleaned. Thermal fogging is used to neutralize any remaining smoke molecules. After the odor is dealt with, these surfaces will be cleaned using specialized products.
